Particularly in the current difficult climate, it can be challenging for employers to commit to supporting apprenticeships and for young people to find appropriate vacancies.
Consign Construction Skills has the expertise and knowledge and the all important funding through the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to help employers and young people in appropriate and sustainable ways. The sort of support we can offer is extremely flexible and can be tailored according to companies’ and individual’s needs and can include any combination of the elements below:
For employers Consign can:
- Assist with the recruitment of the apprentice/s
- Help with the induction of the apprentice/s
- Develop training plans which it will monitor and track progress in order to ensure successful achievements
- Contribute towards the cost of a training provider to undertake onsite assessment for an NVQ level 2
- Co-ordinate an “apprentice share” programme in which two or more employers provide an appropriate work package to achieve the training plan with each employer contributing relevant employment costs.
- Assist with the application of relevant grants for employers registered with ConstructionSkills
- Ensure that appropriate training and guidance is given to ensure the apprentices’ safety and wellbeing are protected
- Provide a short period of wage subsidy
