Health & Safety Testing

The ConstructionSkills Health and Safety Test is widely considered to be the industry standard for benchmarking the health and safety awareness and knowledge of the construction workforce and is a minimum standard for working on a construction site.

Consign provides dedicated facilities in a relaxed environment for taking the ConstructionSkills Health and Safety Test in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. We also offer revision workshops to help applicants prepare for and maximise their chances of passing the test. Currently, over 97% of people who have taken advantage of our workshops pass the test. And for those who are not computer literate, we can provide additional support.

About the Health and Safety Test

The test is multiple choice and is computer based - you choose the correct answer by either using a mouse or using a touch screen.

Questions cover a range of issues that you may encounter on a building site including site hazards, working at heights, using dangerous substances and understanding warning signs.

There are 15 different categories of test, which test different areas of health and safety, relevant to the job that you do. Usually, you will be asked 40 questions, to be answered in 45 minutes, although some specialist tests have 50 questions and last 60 minutes. Most candidates finish well before time.

There are currently 15 versions of the test for different trades, tailored to give candidates specific health and safety skills relating to their job. Any queries regarding which category of tests are suitable for different cards should be made to the relevant card schemes direct.
